Mar-Lakuittia Overstreet joined Lincoln Youth Track Club coaching hurdles in 2019. She is a Level 3 USATF Certified Coach. Previously, she was an Insturctional Coordinator, English, English Learners teacher, and an ELL Team Leader. In high school, she was a four-sport varsity athlete in cross country, basketball, track and field, and cheerleading. As well as, participating in a variety of other organizations. In college, she went to Doane and competed in basketball, track and field, and cheerleading. She later got her Master's in Education from Concordia University for Secondary Administration in 2019. Currently, she is working on her Doctorate degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

She has previously coached hurdles and sprints for three years at Charles Culler Middle School. Mar-Lakuittia is currently a volunteer coach for hurdles at Lincoln High School, this being her fourth year. Mar-Lakuittia takes pride in helping the youth grow and develop in her community. She is the Lincoln NAACP Youth Council Advisor. 

My first experience with track and field was in seventh-grade at Charles Culler Middle School. That is where I developed my foundation and fundamentals of running and hurdles. I got an opportunity to run 1600, 400m, 4x4, 4x1, 100m, 200m, and hurdles. I fell in love and my passion continues as I coach track and field.

What I enjoy the most about coaching is helping athletes develop their fundamentals to improve their running and hurdle techniques. It is so amazing to watch athletes compete and do their personal best in any event.
